It seems like the nicer water and big mother load of Salmon is over along the NY of the Niagara Bar. Rest assured the good fishing will come back very soon.   FISHING REPORT UPDATE - APRIL 29 Its here folks, some of the best fishing on Lake Ontario is happening now!! Throughout most of the south shore from Grimsby to the Niagara River there is nice warm (47-48 degree) 'green" water and its loaded with Chinook, Coho, Lakers & Brown Trout. There is lots of fish in many spots for everyone currently.  For Chinook Salmon 35-60 FOW has been pretty good. Well you can usually set your watch to the the fact that by the 3rd week of April the Salmon & Trout fishing along the south shore of Lake Ontario begins to hit the peak for some of the most exciting fishing action of the year & we are here!   Despite a little wet & windy windy weather over the past weekend, some excellent fishing was had by many boats. Ok lets talk about what's been happening lately. Inconsistent weather of late, a couple nice days, followed by a couple un-fishable days & so on it seems. Fishing along the south shore of Lake Ontario from Grimsby to the Niagara River has been good & will only be getting better in the coming days & weeks. We are definitely getting into Spring Peak time for many species. Starting with Lake Ontario things are heating up.We are into that time now where many species are crowding the shallower waters together.
